Writing music and performing, Writing poetry, Spending as much time as possible with family and friends.
And of course my 2003 Anniversary Fatboy
Here are a few poems I have written...
A TIME TO LOVE
THE DAY HAS COME, OUR THOUGHTS UNFOLD,
AND NOW MY LOVE, IT'S YOU I'LL HOLD.
SO MANY TIMES WE'VE TALKED ALL NIGHT
MY ONLY WISH, TO HOLD YOU TIGHT.
WE SPOKE THE WORDS, "I NEED YOU SO",
AND DEEP INSIDE, OUR LOVE WOULD GROW.
ALTHOUGH AT TIMES, WE FELT SOME DOUBT,
WE KEPT OUR HEADS, AND WORKED IT OUT.
I'VE STARED AT STARS, THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT,
YOUR VISION STRONG, THOUGH NOT IN SIGHT.
OUR TIME WE SPEND, WILL MEAN SO MUCH,
WHEN WE THINK BACK, TO OUR FIRST TOUCH.
ALL TIME WILL STOP, WITH THIS WE'LL SHARE,
EACH OTHERS LOVE, AND SHOW WE CARE.
AND WHEN I DO, LOOK IN YOUR EYES,
AND TOUCH YOUR CHEEK, I'LL REALIZE.
HOW VERY SPECIAL, YOU REALLY ARE,
AND WHAT LOVE MEANS, WE'VE COME SO FAR.
I'LL FEEL YOUR TEARS, AND SHARE YOUR PAIN,
THROUGH GOOD AND BAD , I WILL REMAIN.
THE BOND WE'VE MADE, LET NO MAN BREAK,
TIS BY MY SIDE, THAT YOU'LL AWAKE.
OUR FUTURE BRIGHT, GOOD TIMES WE'LL SEE,
FOREVER IN MY HEART, YOU'LL BE.
SO DARLING, I NEED YOU TO KNOW,
YOU FILL ME UP, WITH JOY AND SO.
WITH EVERY STEP AND BREATH I TAKE,
I'LL NEVER CAUSE, YOUR HEART TO BREAK.
Wishing Well
I'll paint a pretty picture, contained inside my mind,
A vision of her loveliness, none better you will find.
I sense the lonely feelings, in stories she would tell,
Of countless pennies tossed into, a dried up wishing well.
For some, things come so natural, for others it's a chore,
We recognize the problem, but choose to just ignore.
So many times she's fallen, for someone she would trust,
In time become the victim, her will reduced to dust.
I just can't help but wonder, how could they be so cold,
To someone kind and thoughtful, A heart that's filled with gold.
This shoulder that she cries on, has felt the many tears,
Of sadness and frustration, endured throughout the years.
A grudge of pure emotion, carved deep within her soul,
Surrounded by the wall she builds, now starts to take its toll.
So many lies and broken dreams, is there no one who's true?,
Can't someone see the light I see, someone who'd be true blue.
I see the constant struggle, she faces everyday,
The shadows of dark ignorance, that seem to cloud her way.
It's hard for her to take my word, but know it's meant to be,
The negatives will run their course, the good times yet she'll see.
And in the end some lucky guy, she'll find will come to call,
Replacing all past memories, with Love once and for all.
Its Only One Piece
An appetite fulfilled once more, no need to order pie
But bring it waitress anyway, a bite or two I'll try.
Delivered with a smile she says, I know you'll treasure it,
But after just one taste I find, there is no room to fit.
So slow to rise, I've had too much, I must adjust my belt,
In just a few more hours, all the indigestion felt.
I pay the bill, the cashier says, Was everything ok?
We answer, Yes, the food was great, see you some other day.
And as we leave I glance across, the room we chose to feast,
So many other pies untouched, three quarters left, at least.
While as I'm driving home I think, how much must go to waste,
And think about some other folks, no pie they'll ever taste.
The painful cries of those in need, the suffering extreme,
Who'd give up almost anything, to taste that peach and cream.
A mothers fear of what will be, if summers rains go dry,
And crops that will sustain their lives, just shrivel up and die.
The little one she holds so close, no strength to lift his head,
Keeps staring into mothers eyes, with hopes he will be fed.
She says, Its only Monday babe, you know we skip a day,
I know your little belly hurts, but Tuesday's close...ok?.
His quiet voice, so soft and weak, says I know Mom, you're right,
While mothers tears roll down her cheek, he smiles and says, goodnight.
And as the sun begins to rise, A silence fills the air,
Another hungry child is gone, it never seems quite fair.
Never again he'll see her smile, or feel her warm heart beat,
If only he'd have had the piece, that I refused to eat.
DREAMS
I frequently awaken through the hours of the night,
Reaching out to hold you, but you're nowhere here in sight.
Another dream has taken us to places far away,
Escaping from reality, until the break of day.
Hand in hand we walk the sands, the ocean breeze so nice,
Sharing our emotions , in our playful paradise.
I feel the softness of your touch, the twinkle in your eye,
Embedded in my memory, until the day I die.
Another day of loneliness, eventually will end,
Replaced at night with dreams of you, so honey we'll pretend.
And so until the day may come, when we can be together,
I'll see you in my dreams at night, where love can last forever....
Fallen Star
A shadow now cast over, What once were happy times
The days will grow in number, And leave the past behind
The little things forgotten, A need to have you near
His caring words once spoken, All seemed to disappear
No willingness to offer, A helping hand each day
To try and make things nicer, For you some special way
The extra effort taken, A chore you choose each day
To make his friends feel welcome, No thank you comes your way
The joy of soft caressing, His gaze into your eyes
The pretty thoughts he'd whisper, Now nothing more than lies
A man you said you'd die for, Commit your life to keep
Not home at this late hour, Alone again you sleep
Above the dark horizon, A distant star will fall
And with it all the memories, The closeness most of all
If only for a moment, He'd stop and think someday
This heart that he is breaking, Someone may take away
Broken Will
So easily a head is turned
Attention be not sought
A painful heart heard crying out
Through silent fears and thoughts
Gloom filled days of loneliness
A longing to be free
Of all this pain and suffering
The night will bring to thee
An unforgiving ignorance
Brings bitterness and pain
Cloaking all subconscious dreams
All future hopes in vain
An unheard cry through words not spoken
A plea to right this wrong
A once strong iron will no more
With him thou not belong
CHOICE
I've seen the many changes taken place as time goes by
But realize this was meant to be, no tears I've meant to cry
So many friends and memories, to count would be in vain
I'm fortunate to share great times, but also felt the pain
It's not how long or short you're stay, but time well spent together
The untold dreams we all have shared, to have and hold forever
A lifetime filled with choices made, before you ride please think
Those friends you've made would miss you so, if you decide to drink
Another Place, Another Time
A child crying , A mothers breast
The tallest mountain, A climbers quest
The bells heard ringing, A Christmas wish
Thanksgiving morning, A turkey dish
A cup of coffee, A cream or two
A rooster crowing, The dawn and dew
A bowl of soup, A nasty cold
A Birthday cake, No wish be told
The falling leaves, A pumpkin pie
No clouds in sight, A rainbow sky
A New Years bash, A toast to time
A sleepless night, A nursery rhyme
So many things, Go hand in hand
A perfect match, throughout the land
The same with love, Two people drawn
To have and hold, Till one is gone
A loss that's felt, By one and all
We've lost a friend, To Heaven's call
And to the one, With broken heart
This pain you feel, One day will part
Again you'll touch, The time will come
Forever close, Two Souls as one
THE AWAKENING
A SEARCH THAT ONCE FELT ENDLESS
A SPARK OF LIGHT WILL SHINE
A NEW FOUND FUTURE BECONS
A DOUBT NOW LEFT BEHIND
A HOPE OF ONE DAY FINDING
A VISION CLEAR AND BRIGHT
A DREAM THAT NOW PROVES WORTHY
A TIME THAT FEELS SO RIGHT
A SMILE GLEEMS WITH MAGIC
A HEART FILLED FULL OF GOLD
A VOICE SO SOFT AND TENDER
A FAIRY TALE BE TOLD
A JOURNEY NOW BEGINNING
A PATH NOT PAVED WITH TEARS
A PAIR OF SOULS UNITED
A CAST AWAY OF FEARS
A PROMISE MADE FULFILLING
A HOPE OF WHAT COULD BE
A HAND HELD OUT TO OFFER
A HAPINESS TO THEE
A WORD KEPT TO BE FAITHFUL
A CHAPTER WRITTEN TRUE
A NEED TO HOLD NO OTHER
A WISH FOR ONLY YOU
